Website design & development

Websites designed around what visitors came to do

A website has two halves: how it looks and feels, and how it works under the hood. We plan both together — structure and wireframes first, then design, a responsive build and the server, database and business logic behind it — so the site you approve is the site that launches.

What's included

Design and development, as one piece of work

Every item below is part of the discipline. The brief decides which ones your project needs.

Wireframes and mockups

The page structure and user journey agreed in low detail before any visual design is produced.

Colour, typography, branding

A visual language that fits your brand — or helps you define one if it doesn't exist yet.

Responsive design

Layouts that work on phones, tablets and desktops, checked at real screen sizes rather than assumed.

Front-end development

The approved design translated into clean, accessible, fast-loading code.

Back end and business logic

Servers, databases and the rules your site runs on — forms, bookings, accounts or catalogues.

Full-stack delivery

Front-end and back-end work combined, so nothing falls between two suppliers.

How it runs

From first sketch to launch

  1. 1

    Consultation

What the site is for, who uses it and what they need to find or do on it.

  2. 2

    Structure

Sitemap and wireframes: which pages exist and what each one is responsible for.

  3. 3

    Design

Mockups with your colours, type and imagery, reviewed on desktop and mobile.

  4. 4

    Build

Front end and back end developed together, tested as they come together.

  5. 5

    Launch

Deployment, redirects from any old pages, and a final check of every route.

  6. 6

    Upkeep

Updates and maintenance arranged so the site keeps working after launch.

Before the consultation

What helps us help you

You don't need a finished specification. A few honest answers make the first conversation far more useful.

  • The one job the site must do — bookings, enquiries, sales, information. Pick the main one.
  • Who visits and why — customers, partners, applicants, members.
  • Sites you like, and why — the reason matters more than the link.
  • What exists already — domain, hosting, logo, content, an old site.
  • Systems it must connect to — payments, a CRM, email marketing, booking tools.
  • Who approves decisions — and how quickly they can do it.

Questions

About website projects

Can you redesign our existing site instead of starting over?

Yes. We start by assessing what's there — content, structure, hosting and code — and recommend whether to rebuild, redesign or improve in place.

Will the site work on phones?

Responsive design is part of every website we build. Layouts are designed and checked for phones, tablets and desktops.

Can the website include online sales?

Yes. We build single-store and multivendor e-commerce, and can connect a site to point-of-sale software.

Do you also handle the content and marketing?

We can. Digital marketing and graphic design are part of the same service line, so content, search and visuals can be planned with the build.
